New Drainage Tubes!

We got back to Charleston last night and went to see Josiah. He looked pretty good, a little swollen, but good. We left about 12:30am. When we came back at 9am they were putting a chest tube in Josiah. He apparently has fluid accumulating around his lungs again. Because of the fluid he was struggling to breathe again and his O2 sats were dropping so we went up on his ventilator settings. He has drained quite a bit a fluid out of the tube today.

Josiah's belly is also very distended. The doctors aren't quite sure what the cause of all this is, so his feeds were shut off for right now, until we can figure out why his belly is so big. He is also leaking fluid out of the needle prick site in his belly where they did the Nissen laproscopically. The fluid was leaking out of this tiny little hole onto his sheets until we noticed that his bed was soaking wet. For some reason Josiah has a lot of extra fluid that his body is trying to get rid of.

It's hard to not know what's going on. We were hoping for smooth sailing from here until we could come home. It seems like there is always something holding us back. Hopefully the doctors will figure out what's going on soon.
